A cool wind blew down the steps and along the path ahead. Clouds above cluttered the sky, forming twirling patterns and various other clusters of puffiness. Grass nearby fluttered and whistled in the breeze. The doors standing in front of the stairs were hooked open, allowing the early breeze to fluster through out the building within.
Flickers of light blonde hair danced around the twenty one year old's head as she did her job. Poorly. Instead of wandering around the grounds keeping an eye out for trouble makers, Melissa Clark was lounging on the railings of the step. She looked at the sky, her blue eyes glinting in the sullen light of the morning. It couldn't be much more than ten in the morning, and Melissa was much more tired than she should have been. She hadn't been able to sleep the previous night, and she was guessing that this was a consequence.
Light grey bags hung beneath her eyes, her lids hung low as her lips remained in an idle position. Her uniform, though stifling, wasn't useful for keeping one warm. Blowing into the air above her as she looked up, Melissa let out a deep and heavy sigh. She had nothing to do, her job, of course, but who was going to sneak out of the building when it was this early?
Slouching down into a sitting position, back against one of the rails, Melissa yawned and rubbed her hands together. Her ID card hanging loosely down at her chest.
