My name is Abraham Lincoln. *laughs* Nah, not really. That’d be cool, wouldn’t it? My name’s Rhiannon…but most people just call me Gelly. You can call me Gelly, I guess. If you try to call me ‘Rhiannon’, I just think, oh they’re talking to someone else and I just ignore them. *laughs* Nobody ever calls me by my first name, you know? It’s not a name you really wanna call. I guess you can call me “Rhi” if you really wanna.
“Next question, how has your High School career gone thus far?”
Um...well if I said ‘good’, I’d be lying, so I can’t say that! *laughs* Umm…well, I guess it wasn’t too bad, you know. I, um…I guess it was good. You know, I got pretty okay grades, I was part of some team or another, you know all that…but you know. I never really fit in and that meant that, you know…that makes me a trouble-maker. *laughs* I’m, you know…repeating a grade. I was kind of…absent for my last year of high school so my grades kinda fell, you know?
“What did you do when you weren't in school? Any hobbies or sports, anything like that?”
Let’s see, uh..I’ve always enjoyed fashion…you know, like…making cool outfits and sewing and stuff? It’s like, the girliest thing in the world, but you know, it’s fun. It’s kinda relaxing. Clothes don’t talk back. *laughs* So, yeah, I’m into that kinda thing. I’m also, like…a really good skateboarder. I did it a lot. My nickname has been Skater Girl for, like, longer than I remember. I still introduce myself as ‘Skater’ sometimes. *laughs* I’m confusing like that.
“Family and friends are pretty important. Tell me about them. How are your relationships with them?”
Oh, right, them. Well, I’ve got parents. Haha, I don’t know anybody who doesn’t have parents. My relationship with them…well, you know, it’s pretty rocky, pretty…well, we don’t really get along. They don’t like my friends, they don’t like my boyfriend, they don’t like my lifestyle, they don’t like my clothes. Frankly, I don’t even think they like me! *laughs*
Well, other than the ‘rents, though, I’ve got, you know, a couple of brothers. There’s, um…Jason, Adam, Daniel, Thomas and Frankie. *laughs* That’s more than a couple, isn’t it? Um…Thomas and Frankie are twins and they’re pretty cool. We’re all pretty close. I mean, we practically raised each other. Adam and Daniel are older than me and everyone else is younger. I mean, some of ‘em are half-brothers, but we really kind of stopped paying attention to whose parents were whose when I turned about eight. *laughs* It just kinda stopped mattering, you know?
“Thank you for sharing that with me. So those are your family and friends, what about yourself? Describe yourself to me.”
Me? Oh, haha, I’m a…I guess I’m a pretty average girl. I’m pretty bubbly, you know, I tend to ramble a little bit, or so I’m told. *laughs* I’m always laughing, smiling, or skating or something, you know. Real energetic and bouncy. I’m not really much of a music person, but I can play guitar like a son of a gun, so I’m tend to hum a lot. I’ve been told I’m a…little anxious, a little twitchy. I’m, uh…I tend to like, zone out sometimes. Like if you’re talking to me and you talk to long, you know, I just kinda…I get bored, you know? I have such a short attention span. *laughs*
“Other than the reason you’re here, at Blackwood Academy, have you had any other issues with law enforcement?”
Yeah, I’ve gotten busted a few times for stealing and doing drugs in public. I guess I learned from my mistakes, though, ‘cause I stopped getting caught after a while. *laughs* Umm…I’m banned from a couple of places for stealing frequently or sleeping inside or breaking and entering. I ran away a lot, so the police were always having to look for me and stuff? I know most of the po’ by name now. *laughs*
“What is the worst thing you’ve done? Why did you feel the need to do that?”
The worst thing I’ve ever done? Umm...I house-sat for this really old lady like, a year ago, and she was really well off but kinda off her rocker, you know? And that was when I was really bad off, you know? And she was this really sweet old woman, right? I mean, she gave me a place to stay once or twice and she never told the police when I was out doin’ bad things. She even gave me her spare keys so I could crash there whenever I wanted. And one day I just needed some money, you know? So one day while she was in the hospital, I snuck into her house and stole some of her money. I stole some of her things too…just so I could sell ‘em, right?
Why did I need to do it? Well…I was homeless. I was jobless. And, well…it was easier than robbin’ a bank, right?
"What the one things you're most proud of?"
Um…probably my brothers. You know, they’re really…they’re really a great bunch of guys, you know? They’re always there when you need ‘em and somehow my crazy didn’t infect them. *laughs* They’re a strong bunch of boys, though.
"Other than you’re trouble with law enforcement, do you have any vices or addictions?"
Well, um, I used to have this eating thing, but I haven’t gotten bad in a while. My mom said that when I talked to you I should make mention of the fact that I’m an “ex-anorexic”, or so she says. So there you go. Sometimes I stop eating. Not a big deal, right?
Other than that, umm…I do tend to get drunk but only when I’m feeling bad, you know? Sometimes you just…need a drink, you know. Or twenty. *laughs*
“If you could change one thing about your life what would it be?”
Um...I don’t think…if I could do it over…I guess…well…I don’t think that, if I had the chance, I wouldn't have gotten that abortion.
“What criminal act got you sent here and who recommended it?”
*laughs* I don’t know if I should tell you that. You might not like me anymore. *laughs* Well, it’s against the rulesnot to tell you, so, um…whatever, right? I actually, uh, got caught selling drugs, um…up at school. Yeah. The teen drug dealer. That’s me. *waves*
“Do think that you deserve to be here?”
Well…no. Maybe. I dunno. I was just trying to make money, right?
"Tell me about your life before Blackwood Academy contacted you, what led up to your stay here."
Well, you know, it was pretty quiet, pretty average. I got in a bit of trouble now and then but most of the time I just didn’t get caught, you know? I can’t say, well…you know, my childhood was, well…pretty hellish I guess. My parents weren’t the best so it was really up to my brothers and I to take care of ourselves, so, you know…we did.
When I turned, like, ten I started to get fed up with all the crap so I ran away the first time. I got all weirded out, though, so I went home after a couple of days. And then I did it again when I was fourteen, but the cops caught me. I did it a lot when I was fifteen and sixteen but that was just for the attention, you know? Like maybe if I left enough times, they’d pay attention or whatever. Nothing changed, though, so whatever. After that, I just spent a lot of time out and then, finally, I said F*ck it and just headed out alone again. That wasn’t a good time for me. *laughs* I wasn’t eating, I was getting hardcore into the drinking and stuff and I was just, you know…F*ck it. God, I must have been on the streets…um…god, maybe four months? Yeah. I mean, there was no way I was going home, right? So, you know. Whatever.
And then, well…I got the bright idea to sell drugs. It went very well. And then I got caught.*laughs*
