Anthony had just spent the last four days in isolation for kicking someones ass. People around here got on his nerves. He almost felt bad for pounding on a level one. Almost but not really. But mostly cause he got caught doing it and Pixel was mad about him being in isolation yet again. People were so much easier to deal with high. He was always calm. Not being high sucked ass sometimes. He was pretty much always on his last nerve these days. Well its not like it mattered he couldn't have anything around here. And if isolation allowed him to see Pixel he'd spend the rest of his life in there.
The first thing he did upon his release was bum a cigarette off a teacher. Sometimes you could catch one that was sympathetic enough to give you a smoke as long as you didn't advertise that you had it. And he never said a word. He sat against on the ground usuing the brick building as the back of his seat. Then he continued to smoke the cigarette leaning his head back against the wall. He was tired of this school, of classes, of the annoying people around, of the cast on his arm, of just everything at the moment. He was just tired.

The first day was passing slowly. It was like time kept stopping. And constantly looking at the clock waiting for something, anything to happen while the seconds ticked away didn't help. The day was beautiful, sun shining bright above the world on the hot September day. the air was eminently cleaner here than it was in Chicago.
And if Candy was more judicious and perceptive she might have recognized all of this. But mostly, she just stood in the yard looking a little lost. Sure she had a paper telling her where to be at all times but didn't stop the desolation that was beginning to pervade the pit of her stomach. But, it was only the first day, it had to get better from here right?
With an eye roll at the lame attempt to delude herself, Candy slowly started moving from the spot she was in. She really didn't want to look like a loser in front of all the new strangers that she would most likely be spending a very long time with. Good way to make a first impression, by making a spectacle of yourself and looking like an idiot. All she really wanted to do now was just take her classes, do what she was suppose to do and get out of here as fast as possible. But then where would she go?
There was faint movement off to the side that happened to catch her eye. A guy, seemingly around her age, indubitably a fellow student. He was alone and smoking a cigarette. Which she was pretty sure was against the rules. She didn't mind too much, and apparently neither did he. She walked up to him cautiously and glanced around he yard a little. "Got another one of those?" She said with a little bit of hesitation, but her tone was friendly enough. She wasn't quite sure what kind of people she was going to be meeting here, so she thought it best to be on guard, even more than she already was, that is. But she hadn't had a smoke in a long while; She could really go for one right now.

Anthony stared out in front of him. He wasn't really looking at anything, he was just staring. Of course there wasn't much to stare at. They were pretty much in the middle of nowhere. The town wasn't to war away but it was a good hike. And there weren't a lot of trees. He took another puff of his cigarette. It did feel good to have a smoke. Four days was a long time to go without one. But the alone time he and Pixel had when she snuck in there to see him was good. So isolation wasn't to aweful bad.
Then he saw a shadow cover him. And a voice asking if he had another cigarette. He looked up to see who was asking. His dark blue eyes scanned the girl. He didn't know her. And she didn't look like a teacher. "Nah .. Just the one. But I can share if you don't mind sharing germs." He was joking about germs. He was hardly ever sick. He held out the cigarette for her to take. He didn't mind sharing his one.

Looking down at him, Candy waited for his reaction and answer. He looked like he was trying to relax. She could understand that, this place looked like it was going to be stressful for most of the students here, and probably the teachers too. She's hasn't been here for very long and she's already really stressed. Though, she's lived her life that way for so long, it's actually not as bad now. Or maybe it's just different? She doesn't have to worry about her losing her life anymore.
A small relieved smile crept onto her face as she quickly turned and sat down next to him. She took the cigarette gently as he offered it. She let her guard down a little bit, enough for her not to be overly cautious but she knew she could relax a little bit. At least for right now. "Thanks." She sat there for a moment looking around at everything. Then she looked at him. Trying to read something about him. But she wasn't sure what. "So...I thought these things were against the rules. Do you get like special privileges for good behavior or something?" She handed the cigarette back to him and searched the yard again. There was a lot to take in.

Anthony watched her sit next to him. He gave her a slight smile. She was here to be friendly that was for sure. He really hated having to fight girls. It just went against everything he'd be taught growing up. Though if they waged war on him he'd fight back. He wasn't about to just let some girl knock him around. She seemed like a new kid. Here eyes were shifty, mostly the side yard was just a flat piece of grass with kids in it.
Then he heard her sort of like comment/question about being allowed cigarettes if you had good behavior. He laughed a little at that taking a a puff of the cigarette then holding it back out for her to take again. "If it is then I wouldn't know .. I don't much have good behavior. I just know the right teachers. Some take pitty on you and give you something to smoke. Being that he just got out of isolation he definitely didn't have good behavior.
