Bianca Estella Maria De Rossi
stylish - spoiled - control freak - religious - talented - ambitious
This is Bianca De Rossi. She was raised by her grandparents, a mob boss and a housewife, after her father murdered her mother when she was a toddler. She's incredibly talented, and has taken vocal lessons and dance classes since she was a child. Jazz and opera are her strong points, but she can sing nearly any type of music.
Friends may be difficult for her to find. She's a little stuck up, and likes to think she's better than everyone else. However, once she has a friend, she's loyal, almost to a fault, and is unlikely to abandon them. I don't think there will be a shortage of enemies. Bianca isn't the easiest person in the world to get along with. While she's accepting of some differences (sexual preference, religious differences, political opinions), she can be a little judgmental at times. (Particularly when it comes to S*x and how people present themselves.) There are bound to be people who get irritated with this, so, feel free to make an enemy of her! As for lovers, Bianca isn't the most experienced there, being very religious and slightly sheltered. She's only ever had one boyfriend, and he's the reason she's at B.A.D. She's very ambitious, and had a whole life planned out for herself (from when he would propose, to how they would do his presidential campaign, to what charities she'd run and support as first lady). Any changes now will be hard for her to accept, especially since she's never had to even think about needing to work. She's also recently been informed by her grandfather that he's arranged for her to marry the son of one of his 'associates', and that she'd move to Italy to do so immediately after graduation. If someone wanted to get her to rebel, now is the time, because she's afraid (not that she'll admit it) of giving up her life before she's lived it.
Henry Caleb Baker
single father - caring - British - prickly - widower - lonely
This lovely gentleman is Mr. Henry C. Baker, the English teacher at B.A.D. He's a widower, and the single father of a 3 year old little girl, Beatrice. His wife, Naomi, was the love of his life, and died almost three years ago. Since then, Henry has closed himself off a bit, and came to the states to get away from all the memories of her that haunted him.
He obviously needs friends. He's nice enough, once you get past the sarcasm and tendency to mock others. Henry is always polite to his students and coworkers, but a little snarky at times. (Especially when his knee is bothering him.) Any friends would need to not only understand this, but be able to handle it. I can easily see enemies being in abundance for him. He is a teacher, and he's not one to just let students get away with everything. (Unless you've gotten onto his good side, in which case, feel free to misbehave.) But besides that, he's not the nicest guy unless he genuinely likes you, and if he does, then you'll know. (The insults aren't quite so bad then.) He's a sweet guy if you can get close to him, but most people don't ever get that opportunity. Lovers won't be so easy for Henry. First of all, he wants a woman near his own age, so I'm afraid no one under 28. Secondly, he's still in love with Naomi, so any woman would have to be able to handle that, and understand that he will always remember her fondly. (On top of that, his daughter is more important than anything to him, so she'd have to pass Beatrice's judgement first.) So, clearly, this will be hard, but could be pretty fun!
Frank Giovanni Bianchi
old - crotchety - cranky - loving - grandfather - chef
Meet Frank Bianchi, head chef at Blackwood. He's a widower, a father, grandfather, and (as of recently) a great grandfather as well. He's been here for 15 years, since retiring from owning his own restaurant, which his kids and grandkids now run. He was married to his wife, Margaret, for 26 years, and would have been married longer, had she not died.
Obviously, lovers are kind of out of the question for Frank. Considering his age (67), falling in love again is pretty unlikely. He's not the type to go get with some young girl, but if an older lady joined the staff (50+), that'd be the only chance for him. As it is, he's content with being alone, though at times, he can be caught looking up to the sky, and complaining to Margaret about how things are, or telling her what she's missing out on. As for friends, these could be more common. Frank likes to take care of people, whether through feeding them, or just making sure they aren't doing things that are too stupid. He's very paternal, and considering that his
Carmen Alejandra Ortega
caring - polite - stubborn - bilingual - intelligent - maternal
Carmen Ortega is one of the psychiatrists here at Blackwood. She's in her forties, single, divorced once, and a mother. (Though she doesn't raise her child, having given her up 16 years ago.) She's been here for 4 years, after getting tired of treating adults with all the same problems. She genuinely cares about all of her patients, and wants to help all of them.
Friends may not be so easy for her to come by. As much as she cares for her patients, I doubt it'll be a mutual feeling. Other staff will hopefully like her, and get along well with her, though. She's very friendly and polite, unless you make her angry. It isn't easy to do that, though, unless you do something to mess with one of her patients, or her daughter. Enemies may be easier to find, and I think most of these will be students. Carmen has a way of working her way into your head, and getting the information she wants. While that's her job, it's not something many people like, so I'm sure people will be disliking her for this. As for lovers, I'm not sure if there will be many of these. She is NOT a cougar, so a guy will need to be near her age, either a few years older or younger. (No one under 35, no one over 50.) She's single, and because she's about to reconnect with the daughter she gave up 16 years ago, things may be difficult for her for a bit, when it comes to romance.
Ennis Jane MacDonald
adventurous - rebellious - multilingual - creative - childish - outgoing
E.J. MacDonald (don't call her Ennis or Miss MacDonald) is the Spanish teacher, and a bit of a party machine. She's 25, and has yet to outgrow the 'party all night, sleep all day' philosophy she's had since childhood. She's only at Blackwood because her younger brother is a student, and would much rather be back in Europe, educating poor villagers. She's kinder than she seems at times, but not exactly reliable.
Being as outgoing as she is, I don't think there will be any shortage of friends for E.J. She's the teacher that uses music and dancing as well as food to teach, making every class as fun as she possibly can. Her coworkers may think her immature and childish, but that's just how she is. Ditzy and somewhat flighty, getting her to commit can be difficult, but when she does, she doesn't back out of a commitment. She's a loyal friend, and always the first to agree to an adventure or stupid prank. The only problem can be getting her to listen when you want to be serious. When it comes to enemies, I'm sure there will be a few of these. Her refusal to grow up and act like an actual adult is bound to bother some people, not that E.J. will care. She's not one to change the way she acts just because someone is bothered by it. As for lovers, these shouldn't be an issue. Her only boundary is not sleeping with students. Anyone else is pretty much fair game, in her mind. Relationships don't matter to her, and she sleeps around without a care. (And she's like a gremlin. She comes with instructions. Don't take her drinking, don't dare her to do something, and don't tell her to NOT do something.)
Darren Alexandre Dupont
creative - artistic - angry - sarcastic - rebellious - scary
There is more to Darren Dupont than meets the eye. At a glance, he looks absolutely terrifying, large and covered in tattoos. But if you can get to his good side, the 18 year old senior is a bit of a teddy bear. A teddy bear that looks like a zombie, but a teddy bear none the less.
Friends shouldn't be too hard for him. Despite not being a 'people person', Darren isn't antisocial by any means. Close friends, however, may be difficult, as he doesn't let people in often. If you manage to get in, though, it's hard to get yourself kicked out. Enemies should be pretty easy too. Darren has a temper, and he's not very good at controlling it. On top of that, I'm sure SOME of the students are going to be afraid of him because of how he looks. Lovers might be a little more difficult, though not because of Darren. He doesn't hesitate to flirt, even if he knows a girl is taken. He finds it fun. However, he's a little attached at the moment; a girl back home is pregnant with his kid. They're not together, and won't ever be together, but Darren doesn't lie, so girls might not like knowing he's got a girl back home having his kid.
Thomas Matthew Wilkins
geeky - quiet - shy - intelligent - dorky - awkward
The last one of my babies is Tommy Wilkins. He's a freshman, and a level one, at Blackwood for stealing jewelry. He's only there because his older brother, Liam, is a student, and he was lonely at home without him. Tommy is a good kid, but even though he's book smart, he's not the sharpest tool in the shed sometimes.
He's pretty shy, so I'm not sure how many friends he'll have. Still, once he has a friend, he's loyal to a fault, and would never betray a friend. (That's because they're kinda rare for him.) Friends would need to accept, though, that he tends to ramble, especially about books he's been reading, or a history lesson he's particularly enjoyed. Because of that, I can see him having at least a few enemies. They're most likely going to be people that take advantage of Tom's kindness and naivety, or bully him in some way. Unfortunately, Tom's rather passive aggressive, so he's not one to fight back when someone tries to hurt him. And finally, lovers. He's never had a girlfriend or anything, so he's a little clueless about girls, so it'll be a little awkward when he starts liking one. He's had crushes before, but he's far too shy to approach a girl he likes. Anything here would have to be initiated by the other party, and it wouldn't get very far at all, because Tom's too much of a good boy to do anything he doesn't think his mother would approve of.
