Gage and Riley had gotten off to a wonderful start for their day. Or so he'd say anyways. Days like this rarely happened. Neither of them had school duties and the papers to grade could wait another day and it was just amazing. So far it'd been grown up time, and then breakfast, the two of them cooking together was a site to see. Then showers and a stop at the local coffee shop was in order. It'd been a nice enough day they decided to walk. And there was talk of maybe a movie later. It was like 5 dates all at once out of the school to make up for the time they never had to do it.
He looked over at Riley and held her hand. "So tell me miss Riley. You ever think you'd end up with a music teacher?" At one point in time he had thought he was going to be a famous musician. Oh how he'd wished that would have happened. Though had it, he wouldn't be holding hands and walking with the most amazing and fascinating person he'd ever met. He probably wouldn't even know she existed. And that would be a real shame. But point being he hadn't thought he was going to be a teacher. And more so he hadn't thought he was going to be teaching troubled kids.

It had been one of those picture perfect days that happen so rarely, though when she was with Gage, they seemed to happen more often. But with no other commitments, they were able to spend a nice, lazy day out with each other. What more could a girl ask for, getting to spend so much uninterrupted time alone with the man she loved. No, it was just about as good as it could get as far as she was concerned. She smiled a little, letting her head rest on his shoulder as they walked with their fingers entwined, a content smile on her face. She moved her head, looking up at him when he spoke. She smiled, leaning up and kissing him lightly. Had she ever thought she’d end up with a music teacher? No, not really. She’d never much thought about who the person she was going to eventually end up with when she was younger, just that it was going to be perfect. Then when she’d met Charles, she’d pretty much assumed that he was it, that he was going to be her forever. Clearly that had been a bust. But now that she’d met Gage, she’d take music teacher over surgeon any day. She let out a little laugh and shook her head. “ Nope, I don’t think I had ever considered ending up with a music teacher… I have to say though, from the small sampling I’ve had of the profession, they are by far the best kind of man out there though.” she chuckled at her own cheesiness. “ Bet you never thought you’d be dating the dorky history teacher ” she smiled.

Gage smiled when she spoke. He couldn't help but smile with her. They'd both come from broken relationships. Sure while he'd had more time to recover from his than she had from hers, they both still knew what it felt like to have thought you loved someone who hurt them. Who would have known that they would have found each other teaching at a school for kids who were to put it simply .. bad. And things were practically perfect. At least they were for him. He liked all her quirks and just everything about her.
"Dorky, is that what they call it these days?" He laughed some. "I call it amazingly beautiful .. or stunningly sexy. That's what I call it. I think I'm lucky the dorky history teacher gave me a shot." He stoped walking and moved to face her so he could look at her. This day was perfect. No work, just them. They needed things like this. It was good for them. "You suppose .. one day in the future .. We should or maybe are ready to get a place together .. I mean like off school campus" Hopefully it wasn't moving to fast for her.
