ANTONPYOTRVOLKOV
“Well, tell me a little about yourself. What’s your name?”
My name is Anton Pyotr Volkov. I am named for my paternal grandfather. I have no nicknames and I do not believe in shortening my name in any way shape or form. Please refer to me as Anton.
“Next question, how’s school?”
Until recently I did not attend school, being the child of two illegal immigrants can do that to you. Last year when I was allowed to start school I found that it was enjoyable. I am glad that I was sent here so that I may continue my schooling. I do enjoy reading and maths, they allow me to keep my mind off other things.
“What did you do when you weren’t in school?”
I worked. My family had little money and I had to help by father and brother put food on the table, for my mother and sisters. I did chores around the neighborhood, or I would sling coke when I had too. When I was not working I would read and write. Nothing more then that. I do not play sports and I had few friends other then my twin brother and my sisters. We would get together at night and tell stories, since we couldn't afford television.
“Tell me about your friends and family. How are your relationships with them?”
I have few friends, none that I am still in contact with. My family and I are close. I'm closest to my twin brother Nickolai, he do everything together. I have four sisters, my three younger sisters are in foster care currently, Irina, Kata, and Asya and my elder sister Sofya has been deported and sent back to Russia. My parents have also been deported back to Russia, I miss them both dearly. My mother Roza and my father Stefan gave up everything for my family and I will be forever grateful.
“Well we know about your friends and family, but what do you think about yourself? Describe yourself to me.”
I am unsure how to describe myself to you. I am tall and lean from working. I have dark hair and eyes. I am mentally well and do not see the point of this.
“Have you had any trouble with the law?”
If I did not have trouble with the police I wouldn't be here now would I? Other then my reason for being here I have been arrested for driving without a license. I tried to stay out of the way of the police so as to not draw attention to my family.
“Why did you do it?”
Why did I do what exactly? Why did I drive with out a license? I needed to get to work, my legal job at least. It was important that I get there on time so I borrowed my elder sister's car and got caught driving it. It was pure bad luck.
“What is the worst thing you’ve done?”
The worst thing I have ever done was get caught. This sounds selfish I know but you don't understand what it caused. MY brother and I were the reason our family was deported back to Russia. We were caught at our night jobs and the police investigated out home life thus getting out parents caught. I hate myself for ruining our lives while trying to make them better. I've always heard that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. .
"What the thing you're most proud of?"
The one thing I am most proud of...it would have to be the fact that I am over coming my dyslexia and doing well in school. In had to work harder then my siblings at everything school wise and it showed. I am proud that I have started to overcome my problem.
"Got any vices?"
I enjoying drinking, Vodka is not my drink of choice, no matter what the stereotype says. I do not drink often because of the health issues it creates. I prefer my vices be less life threatening. I gamble and fight more often then I should. So yes I do indeed have vices. drinking, gambling and fighting.
“If you could change one thing about your life what would it be?”
If I could change one thing, I would change that my family came to America illegally I would not change that we came here only that we did so legally. I would change the fact that my sisters are in foster care and that my brother and I are criminals. We are good people we should not have been forced into this life.
“What act got you sent here and who recommended it?”
I was caught working in the worlds oldest profession. I was a prostitute. My brother and I were at our whits end, we had exhausted all other means of getting money and we decided to that S*x would be a good way to make money. After nearly four months on the job I picked up a cop. They arrested me and then my brother for underage prostitution and then contacted our family leading to my parents and my eldest sister's deportation and my younger sisters being thrust into foster care. My brother and I were then recommended for Blackwood Academy by the judge that tried out case.
“Do you deserve to be here?”
That would depend on who you ask now wouldn't it? The police and the judge would say yes I do but my family would disagree. I was only trying to help make ends meet. I was doing it for my family. I do not think that I deserve to be here.
"Tell me about your life before B.A.D. contacted you."
I was a twin on Aug. 15 17 years ago. My parents were/are loving caring people that cared for us very much. We lived just the five of us, my parents and elder sister for a year until my mothers second set of twins were born Irina and Kata. Then a two years after their birth she gave birth to my youngest sister Asya. We lived in a small three bedroom home in Nebraska my whole life. Three years ago my father was injured at work and was unable to support our family. We eventually became at risk of loosing our home so my brother, sister, mother and I all got the best jobs we could. Sofya and my Mother worked in restaurants, factories where ever they could. My brother and I took on as many jobs as possible but it wasn't enough.
Because of my family illegal status we had to be careful of how we got work, eventually it became evident that we needed better jobs.
It wasn't until after our arrest that my brother and I discovered what had happened to our family. We learned that because we were born in America we would be allowed to stay but our family was deported leaving us alone in at the mercy of the welfare system.
