“Why did you decide to go into teaching?”
I have always loved kids, and growing up with my younger siblings, I tried to step in and help all the time. So I thought, why no make a career out of it? I always have had a easy time connecting to people it came easy and natural to me, and I love it.
“What can you offer the school?”
I hope to bring a new way of teaching, I like to approach things differently. I try a softer approach then most people do, but it doesn't mean that I will let people walk all over me. I can't stand it, I won't let the kids get the best of me because they are the most important thing here, and there education depends on me getting the knowledge into there heads. I also don't mind longer hours to touter the students that need it, if they are in my class or not I will always try and be there for them.
“Why do you want to work with troubled youth?”
Me and my siblings, really didn't have the best life, my mom tried her hardest but when she devoriced my father he tried to make our lives hell. My mother gave into the stress and she ended her own life, leaving me with my two younger twin siblings. Someone reached out and helped ups, gave us a place to stay, and helped me and my younger siblings with our education... If she didn't help us, who knows what would have happen.... I want to be able to help kids, because I want to be able to keep them on the right path. I'm just a sap really.
“How long have you been teaching, what subjects have you taught, where was the last place you taught?”
This will be my second year teaching, thank you. I was teaching at a high school in new york before I heard about this place and the fact that teachers were needed here. So I came and applied. I enjoyed it but I thought that I could do what I want more here, and help the youth.
“How do you project yourself to students? How do you think your co-workers will see you? How do you see you?”
To my students, I try to project myself, as someone nice, but stern. Sweet, caring.. I just want the best for them. They are the most important thing here..
With my coworkers, sometimes I get doubted with my ability, they just see a big breasted female, and suddenly I'm not as smart as them, or good enough to do my job because of my looks.
How do I see me? Umm... I just see me, long black hair, blue eyes and tan skin. I don't think I have really anything special. Yeah, I think I'm okay looking, but I'm just not stuck up in my looks. I just want people to know that I have to work just as hard as anyone else.
“Worse decision you’ve made during your teaching career.”
Umm, well, I guess mine would be putting to much trust into one of my students. I let them listen to music while they were doing a test. I really don't mind when they do.. But one of the males didn't have a mp3 player or anything so I let him use my ipod... Well that wasn't to smart, he left with it, and I had to go track him down and take it back from him Needless to say I know better now..
“Tell me a little about your life before B.A.D.”
Like I said, I was the first born of three kids. I was four when they were born My mom and dad were always fighting, it got worse as we all got older. From screaming to eventually physically fighting I tried to hide my brother and sister from it but it was nearly impossible until I turned sixteen , and would just take the car with the two twelve year olds in it.
Mom and dad devoriced, and dad... Well dad just tried to F*ck us over all the time He made life hard, would take her to court over neglect, because the kids liked me more, they.. They pretty much were more attached to me then mom. I had always tried to make the best for them, and well... I loved them more then anything.
Dad broke into our house, a lot.. One year he took all of the xmas presents just trying to be a mean ass hole. The twins took it harder then I did. Well mom eventually just couldn't handle it anymore and she ended her own life. I was seventeen at the time, and I just didn't know who to turn to. I really had nothing, and i was scared to go to my father, and I refused to separate the twins from me.. We had a helping hand, and a neighbor let us stay with them, paid for everything for us... She was our angel. I graduated, and went into college, and the twins were okay with it, they knew that I was doing something with my life, like they needed to do as well. I had to be the good role model.
I got a job, and everything seemed fine until Gabe the boy of the twins found this job for me..Knowing that I would like this and it was amazing feeling the love and support from my little brother and sister. I just want to continue and help out where I can.
