Riley laughed at his response, relieved that he hadn't bolted for the door the second the words were out of her mouth. Well, either she had something to be really happy about, or he was just being nice and trying to ease her embarrassment. Either way, she appreciated it, though she hoped it was more the former than the later. “ Oh. Well I'm glad I'm not the only one, that would make things get awkward really fast.” she said with a chuckle. She was trying to convince herself she had no reason for the nervous butterflies in her stomach and that she didn't need to go off into her normal babbling response. It was not an easy instinct to quell.
She was still standing close to him, looking into those amazing blue eyes. She needed to step away, or at the very least, break eye contact, or she was going to end up kissing him again. And while part of her wanted to kiss him again, rake her fingers through his hair, be pressed up against his solid chest... her thoughts trailed off, she had gone and distracted herself, loosing focus on what 'the other hand' was supposed to be. She blinked a couple of times, clearing her head, right, on the other hand, she didn't want to let herself just get carried away in a moment. She hadn't been raised to be that kind of girl.
Besides, his mouth was good for other things. Like conversation. That was after all what initially attracted her to him afterall, the ease in which they had been able to talk. Focus on that Riley, talking. Not kissing. No more kissing.... maybe one more wouldn't be so bad.. NO her inner monologue debated carried on. She decided to listen to the voice of reason and smiled “ I also definitely liked listening to you sing. Do you have any others you could bust out?” she smiled, thinking she'd managed a smooth change of subject. She forced herself to move away from him, going to the edge of the stage and hoisting herself up to sit with her legs over the edge.

Gage couldn't help but stare at her. At least she was looking back so he didn't look dumb like he was stalkerishly watching her. But she was definitely easy on the eyes. And knowing the type of personality she has makes her that much more beautiful. He watched her moved towards the stage and then sit on it. She had said she liked hearing him sing, and if he knew any others. He looked down at the floor as if in thought about what to sing her. There was alot of good music out there to choose from.
He moved to the stage and lifted himself up on to it. Then he moved backwards on his butt so he could stand up on the stage. "My son likes to sing along with the radio alot. He really likes ah .." He paused trying to remember how the song went. "Baby baby baby ohh .. It's like baby baby baby noo, like baby baby baby ohh, thought you'd always be mine mine" he danced a little while he sang it. Just being his crazy self. Then once he was finished he let out a little laugh his smile growing.

Riley grinned as he got back on the stage, and shifted so she was facing him, sitting cross legged with her back to the edge. She watched him, resting her chin in her hands, waiting for him to dazzle her with his singing. When he actually started singing, she let out a chuckle. Of all the things that could have come out of his mouth, Justin Bieber was definitely not what she would have guessed.
He even had a little dance that went with it, she couldn't help but laugh. Not because she was making fun of him, but because he was just coming across as so light hearted and fun loving, she was sure it would be almost impossible not to have fun with him, he just seemed like that kind of person, the kind that could brighten up any room they were in, just by being themselves.
“Beiber, huh? I wouldn't have pegged you as the Bieber type. I liked it though. The dance was especially good.” she grinned widely, clapping. “ Who knew you could move so well?” she laughed.

Gage laughed some at her reaction. She thought he could dance. He was ok at it he though he didn't think he was as great as she seemed to think. "Ah .. he's ok for his age. Not on my top five but my son seems to like him. Well he likes anything he can sing to so thats most anything played a lot on the radio." He moved and sat next to her again. He thought she smelled good. Especially when he was close to her. Having the air that smelled like her filling his lungs constantly made him like her more.
"As for dancing .. Well it was ok I suppose. Nothing great. Do you sing?" He smiled wondering if she could carry a tune. Even if she couldn't it wouldn't make any difference to him. Not everyone was given the same gifts. His eyes moved over to hers. His smile grew waiting to hear her answer.

Riley smiled when he sat down next to her, the heat that seemed to radiate from his body warming her. She could easily imagine wrapping him around her to keep herself toasty on a chilly winter night, a human snuggie. She liked hearing him talk about his son, it was just so wonderful to meet a man who was clearly in love with being a father. And he sounded like a wonderful boy, she'd love to meet him one day. And there she was, getting ahead of herself again.
She felt perfectly at ease sitting next to him, and was glad that him kissing her had taken away that weird awkwardness she felt when she came into the auditorium. It was nice just to have someone around she found it so easy to talk to. She laughed a little at his question, shaking her head emphatically “ Oh no, I am a horrible singer I'm afraid. I got the grades, my younger sister got the musical talent in the family.”

Gage laughed at her words. So she was the brains in the family. Not everyone had to be musically talented. They just had to enjoy music. And she seemed like she did. Besides he thought music was so much more then just whether you could sing or play an instrument. Music was also about where it came from and how it sounded to other people, the messages in the music. He was sure she could tell him something about the history of music, being the history buff she is. "I think music is more then just how well you can sing or play an intrument."
He looked over to her and smiled at her. "You got the good looks as well as the brains. I'm willing to bet" Ok so yeah he was flirting but there was nothing wrong with that. She was definitely beautiful and deserved a little flirting. "I bet you could tell me something on the history part of music .. mm maybe one day we could teach class together or something." He had never really joined classes with another teacher before but working with her he thought could be fun.

Riley smiled at the comment about music. She nodded her head in agreement “ I agree, though to be fair, since I can't sing, play an instrument, and am generally useless at all things besides listening to it, I am probably a little biased.” she laughed lightly. It felt nice, how much she'd laughed sitting around speaking with him. She could easily get used to having him around. And not because of how gorgeous he was, or because her heart started racing just thinking about kissing him. But because it was just nice to have someone who was so easy to talk with. The other stuff was really just a bonus. She smiled slightly, ok, maybe a bit more than just a bonus.
Riley felt her cheeks heat up when he called her beautiful. Riley was by no means an insecure person, she knew she was a fairly attractive woman, but she wasn't used to other people, especially men, telling her that. Flirting was a bit of a foreign concept to her. She'd gone from being a gangly and awkward nerdy teenager and jumped straight to her rebellious college days where flirting consisted mainly of drunk frat boys asking her if she wanted to bone. Really the only real experience she had was with Charles, and they hadn't flirted in years. So as it was, her first reaction was embarrassment. She never quite knew what to say back, and was pretty useless in the flirting department herself. She let out a small chuckle “ I don't know about that, she's got plenty of that too.” she smiled at him.
She nodded enthusiastically at his last comment, embarrassment forgotten“ That would actually be amazing! I bet the kids would love it!” She smiled brightly, the ideas for a joint lesson already bubbling up in her head.

Gage liked that she was so modest. Her ego wasn't overly huge but she wasn't insecure either. She was just the right amount of perfect he thought. He could see himself being happy with her for the rest of his life. But that was probably getting way way ahead of himself. But being here in the moment with her was good enough for him. He could day dream later. And if he could use school as an extra way to spend time with her he surely would. He found the time he spent with her now flew by like the speed of light,
He chose to ignore that implication that her sister was prettier. He found that hard to believe. But she liked to listen to music which was good enough for him. He liked all sorts of music. And she thought the idea of joining classes would be a wonderful idea. He thought that too. Mostly cause he'd be spending time with her. "So .. tell me .. what's your absolute most favorite song" His eyes had never left her. If he knew it .. he'd sing it for her. Maybe that would earn her points.

Riley liked when he looked at her. Maybe that was strange, but he hadn't taken those lovely pale eyes off her, and it gave her a warm fluttery glow in her stomach. She had to admit it, she was officially smitten with this man. It was a good feeling to have, she definitely liked smitten, and she definitely liked Gage.
She tilted her head to the side, thinking about his question. “ My favourite song, huh? Ohh that's a hard one, there are so many I love.” She considered her answer for a few moments, Riley rarely just blurted out an answer to anything, she liked to consider her responses carefully. If someone cared enough to ask the question, she could at least give them a considered answer. After another moment of silence she spoke. “ Crack the shutters by Snow Patrol. Do you know it? I love that song. It has to be the most romantic song I've ever heard.” she said with a smile

Gage watched as she thought about her answer to his question. There were so many good songs out there it was hard to choose from. He wasn't even sure he really had one. He just really loved music. When her answer came he looked down to the floor in front of him. He was familiar with Snow Patrol he was trying to think if he'd ever heard the song or not. It was like going through a file cabinet in his head.
He picked up his guitar and played a few random cords trying to remember. "Hmm .. Yeah I think I might know a little" His hand started to move so that sound was coming from his guitar. "Crack the shutters open wide I want to bathe you in the light of day ..... And just watch you as the rays tangle up around your face and body .... I could sit here for hours finding new ways to be awed each minute ... 'Cause the daylight seems to want you just as much as I want you" Then he stopped playing and looked over to her. A sheepish smile forming on his face. "I don't know more then that" But for her .. he'd learn the whole song.

Riley watched him with a dreamy expression as he sang to her. She wasn't entirely sure what one had to do in order to swoon, but she was certain she was in the process of swooning. Her heart started speeding up the moment he picked up his guitar, and when he sang, dear god, she just wanted to be on him. She was pretty sure he could sing the phone book and elicit the same kind of response, but the fact that he was singing one of her favourite songs, one of the most romantic and beautiful and sexy songs she could think of, well, that just put it over the top. Hence the swooning. Him singing Baby was cute, him singing Snow Patrol was ridiculously hot.
“ That was more than enough.” she said, a little breathless. God, she felt like a preteen girl at a boy band concert. He was definitely talented, and Riley couldn't help but think he didn't belong teaching at a school, he belonged on stage somewhere, making millions of women swoon. Then again, she did like the fact that at least for right now, the only one he was making feel all light headed was her. “ You are so good, you do know that, right?”

Gage smiled at her words. She was telling him how great he was by asking if he knew he was so good. He shrugged his shoulders some at her comment. Sure he was ok but not like famous material or nothing. Or at least he didn't think so. Besides he thought he touched more lives this way. Or in a better way. Though the first statement probably wasn't true. His eyes looked into hers. "I'm ok I guess"
His fingers started playing softly cords that would have sounded better on the piano but the guitar would do. "She's anything by typical. A sweet surprise. No matter what she's lookin at the bright side. It's gonna be worth it. Cause that's what love is. I'll keep searching for my kind of perfect." He liked a little bit of everything. He wasn't above cheesy love songs either.

She smiled, she liked that he was modest. There was nothing less attractive than a man who knew (or thought) he was amazing. She should have known that Gage wouldn't be that type. The little she knew about him already pointed to someone who wouldn't be likely to think that they were gods gift to anything. She was about to tell him that he was certainly way more than just ok. But he started playing the guitar again.
Uh oh. It was happening again, the swooning. She wasn't even sure what the song was, but it didn't matter, he was singing it. And it was sweet, and gorgeous, and she was almost instantly fantasizing that he was singing it for her, looking for meaning in the somewhat cheesy words. She had it bad, she didn't even tell herself she was getting ahead of herself, or was being ridiculous, she just smiled dreamily and stared at him as he sang.
His fingers stopped moving, and the singing faded. Riley let out a little sigh, she could actually just sit here listening to him for hours. But he wasn't singing now, which though seemed like a shame, maybe was a blessing in disguise. She reached forward, grabbing his shit and pulling him towards her, though him holding the guitar didn't quite get him as close as she wanted, and pressed her lips to his, despite her earlier resolve not to just start making out with him. How would a sane woman resist being crooned at like that? It simply wasn't possible.

Gage thought so far that she was his kind of perfect. He was sure he didn't know everything about her. But just by the way it was so easy to talk to her, to show her sides of him no one really saw, like the song she'd heard him singing. And really he did enjoy kissing her and she didn't seem to mind his child like spirit. And she listened to him babble on and on about his son. He could go on and on about how she was his kind of perfect.
Then he felt her hand grabbing his shirt and pulling him forward. Even though his guitar didn't let him move forward all too much. Then her lips were on his. He wasn't sure what he did to make her kiss him but he was sure it was something good. And he liked kissing her. And the way she had just kissed him was completely hot. His hand let go of his guitar pick and found its way to where her jaw line met her neck.

Riley still had her fingers curled tightly in his shirt as she felt his hand settle on her neck. She wanted to pull him closer, feel his chest pressed against hers again, but the damn guitar was in the way. She loved the thing a moment ago, now she wanted to rip it away and toss it somewhere, anywhere but between the two of them. Though, she mused, as their lips moved against each others, it was probably a good thing it was there, a nice little barrier to stop her from just tearing off the young music teacher's clothes.
Instead of manhandling his guitar, she let go of his shirt, bringing her hand up to the base of his neck, and running her hands up into his hair. She should probably pull away soon, you know, just a nice quick kiss, because she could, and then back to sitting a respectable distance away from him. Yes that was a good plan. Now all she needed to do was make herself listen to it. Instead she found herself clenching her fingers into his hair, and pulling his face closer towards hers. Kind of two steps backwards there Riley.
